Things to Do in Lowell on the 4th of July

Historic Trolley and National Streetcar Museum Tour

The National Streetcar Museum at Lowell is open to visitors exploring the historic streetcars and urban transit networks that helped shape industrial Lowell. This is a great activity for the daytime before the evening fireworks. It’s educational, genuinely interesting, and right in the heart of the city.

Fourth of July Celebration at LeLacheur Park

Lowell’s Fourth of July celebration returns to LeLacheur Park on July 4, 2026, with an evening of live entertainment, family activities, and fireworks. And this year carries extra significance as part of the city’s Bicentennial. Doors open at 6:00 PM, with entertainment kicking off at 6:30 PM, starting with a set from local duo Mike & Mike followed by Lowell’s own Tee and the Gents, who close their performance with a rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner by frontwoman Tenesha Scarlett.

Admission is free, but tickets are required and available on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 4:00 PM at the LeLacheur Park Box Office. Free parking is available at the George Ayotte Parking Facility at 11 Post Office Square, with gates opening at 3:00 PM, and paid parking at $10 is offered at the East Campus garage adjacent to the ballpark. If weather forces a postponement, the rain date is July 5, 2026.
